Connie, the document was saved as a Word 2007 version (.docx extension). I have added another link with a Word 97-2003 version that should work better for you. Let me know if that works!

Cheers,

Declan

One of the attitudes I've observed over the years is that any good should be able to multi-task. Developers, project managers, product managers, etc. are asked to focus on several things at once. At one point, I was advised to not discuss the option of focused effort since that was a "career limiting move".

It is an interesting dilemma:
Multi-tasking over several large, monolithic projects.

I am looking for various ways to overcome this attitude, but it can be a tough perception to change.

I tried to download the Word version and have not found the encoding that makes it readable. Can you confirm the link?

I've found "TDD By Example" (Beck) to be a very readable, short, useful and inspiring introduction not only to the practice of coding test-first, but also to the best ways of writing tests.

I'd recommend anyone read that book first before delving into xUnit testing patterns (which is a more thorough library of testing do's and don't's).

Note that Jeff had planned to write this session up but unfortunately is still recovering from pneumonia.

However, if you are interested the game we played was called the XP Lego game and you can find out more about it here: http://www.magpiebrain.com/presentations/the-lego-xp-game/.
