Code Retreat on September 25th

Hi All,

Ann-Marie and Rob with the help of many others have organized a Waterloo Agile/Lean Code Retreat event outside of the P2P group that many of you may be interested in attending (although Communitech is not running this event, we do support the initiatives of the P2P participants who organized the Code Retreat which opens this event up for the general agile community to attend).   Brief description and registration link provided below.

This is a one day code retreat in Java and Eclipse. All are welcome as long as they are truly committed and passionate about coding and want to learn from each other.

What: “[Code Retreat is] an event that brings coders together to code and then discuss only the things that emerge from that code.” [1]

Who: Jason Cheong-Kee-You and Alistair McKinnell will facilitate.

Jason is an Agile Coach in Toronto. Since 1997, he’s spent ten thousand hours figuring out how to create sustainable software. He now applies that knowledge to create high performance teams and is deeply passionate about creating sustainable software through tests.

Alistair McKinnell has been writing software since the days of punch cards. After reading Kent Beck’s Extreme Programming Explained in 1999 he realized he had found his people. These days Alistair works as an Agile Coach, helping others to create valuable code.

Details: Bring your laptop with power supply and have Java and Eclipse installed on it.
