Agile Lean May 24th P2P – Under Test: TDD Techniques from the Trenches

What: “Under Test” is an exploration of Test-Driven Development techniques with special emphasis on getting legacy code under test. We will discuss motivations, iterative adoption and integration with Agile processes. Matt will cover not only the obvious benefits of well tested code, but some of the ‘softer’ benefits including self-documenting code and semantic ‘memory’.

When: Tuesday May 24th, 2011 from 4:30p.m. to 6:00p.m.

Where: Blue Coat Systems Canada Inc.  209 Frobisher Drive, Waterloo, ON N2V 2G4

Who: Matt Thurston is a coder. Graduating from the University of Guelph in the late 90s, he has spent the last 12 years coding in the trenches. After short stints at a small startup and MKS in Waterloo, he has found a home at Blue Coat Systems where he has been coding for the past 10 years. Matt has led efforts to adopt Agile methodologies and TDD at Blue Coat.
